Our Story
WE FINALLY GOT MARRIED
It was the fall of 2007, we both attended a retreat called Kairos put together by our classmates and high school, Christian Brothers. Soon after we were individually asked to the Co-leaders of a future retreat. We gladly accepted and began the journey of a lifetime. In December and early January we spent lots of time together preparing for the retreat, trying to make it as special and meaningful to others as it was to us. On January 20th, 2008, we fell in love. Amanda was looking for a sign and that night it snowed just like she was hoping, and at a remarkably low elevation. Brian asked Amanda to be his girlfriend on January 31st and their exciting future had begun.
Since then, we have experienced so much together. Seven plus years of college and moving from Sacramento to Los Angeles to Davis to Fair Oaks and back to Sacramento. There were the highest of highs such as seeing magnificent places and meeting so many new beautiful people; and the lowest of lows including the passing of several close family members. We look forward to a rich life of travel and self fulfilling careers and hopefully along the way we will find our own special corner of the world to start our own beautiful family.
XOXO
GETTING THERE
Location
The Heirloom Inn is located in Ione, CA about 40 miles southeast of Sacramento.
Accommodation
We do not have a hotel block but we will be staying in nearby Sutter Creek at the Hanford House Inn. There are other nearby hotels and campgrounds we have found that we have included in the map below.
REGISTRY
While everyone loves a great toaster or new appetizer plates, we will soon be embarking on a new stage of life confined to about 200 sq. ft. In other words we really don't need that much "stuff" in the traditional sense. We have set up our registry with SoKind (click the logo below to reach our registry) to allow more flexibility to our registry. We have a Honeyfund for you to make monetary gifts which to be frank are most needed and appreciated. We are mid-build with our camper van and those materials (along with surprise costs) really add up. We have also provided a few gifts we will need in our adventures as well as some more creative suggestions. Most importantly we accept and honor your presence at our celebration as the biggest gift!
